Xiaomi has already confirmed the arrival of a new generation of flagships for this year, which will stand out from the rest of the models available in the brand's catalogue.
These devices are significant because they are the first to come with the Leica seal on their camera system after an association between the two companies that was announced not too long ago.
Now, we know that this new generation will be made up of at least two different devices: Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12S. While the brand has not yet ruled on the matter, we have learned new details about this family of devices, which is set to be released before August.
Leica and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 cameras for the two new Xiaomi 12 series models
The first leak comes from a famous performance testing website and has the Xiaomi 12S as the protagonist. Thanks to them, we know the device will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor associated with the Adreno 730 GPU and 12 GB of RAM.
MIUI 13 and Android 12 are the versions of the customization layer and the operating system that will be included in the device.
In addition, a leaked image just a few days ago lets us see the part of the device's rear cameras. The module houses a three-sensor system configured in an arrangement similar to the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro.
However, it can be seen how the LEICA seal is present on the camera module, making it clear that the photographic system has been fine-tuned with the help of the digital photography firm.
On the other hand, the details of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra have also been revealed, thanks to the renowned "leaker" Yogesh Brar. Some of the most important features of the new Xiaomi smartphone are cited, from the type of screen and its size, to the capacity of its battery and charging technologies:
- Screen: 6.7 inches, QHD+ AMOLED LTPO, 120Hz
- Processor: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
- RAM memory: 8/12 GB LPDDR5
- Storage: 256/512GB UFS3.1
- Rear camera: 50 MP (OIS) + 48 MP (Ultra Wide) + 48 MP (5x optical zoom), ToF, Laser AF
- Front camera: 20 MP
- Software: Android 12, MIUI 13
- Battery: 4800 mAh, 67W wired fast charging, 50 W wireless charging
Most of the details cited are very credible, although it is striking that the company had decided to reduce the maximum charging power with respect to the Xiaomi 12 Pro, going from 120 to 67 Watt. However, it must be remembered that the previous Xiaomi 11 Ultra also had a charging system of up to 67 Watt of maximum power.
Be that as it may, there is no doubt that Xiaomi is going all out with its new family of devices, whose arrival is scheduled for next July. Meanwhile, we will remain attentive to more details that may arise with the arrival of new leaks.
